It gives me immense pleasure to announce Nekr Foods’ association with one of Maharashtra’s premier social organisations, Jnana Prabodhini, Harali (JHP).
Seldom do entrepreneurs get an opportunity to work on ideas benefitting the society and many fail to comprehend the ‘CSR’ spirit. The moment JHP came calling, Nekr Foods embraced the opportunity.
JHP works towards education, research, rural development and entrepreneurship development in the region of Harali, Maharashtra. Having popularised horticulture in the area, it provides technical expertise to farmers, enabling high yields of Amla, Tamarind, Mango, Lime etc. even in scanty rainfall. Further to this endeavour, JHP has set up food processing units that utilise local produce, ensuring better compensation to farmers. These units produce research-backed high quality products with a long shelf life without the use of artificial preservatives.
This produce needs to find a place in the customer’s basket and Nekr Foods’ expertise in promoting high quality, hitherto unfamiliar brands comes to the fore. Nekr Foods is working with JHP to market and place these products in speciality shops and convenience stores in the districts of Mumbai and Thane.
We have marketed, sampled and placed the ‘Prabodhan’ brand on the shelves of 15 specialty food retail outlets within a span of three weeks. The brand has been provided ‘shop front displays’ at a few outlets enhancing its presence. This has resulted in quick sales and repeat orders for products such as Solar-dried Onion, Lemon spread, Tamarind sauce and Ginger powder.
It is not always that young businesses get to contribute positively to society and Nekr Foods is thankful to the JPH team for its confidence in our marketing and distribution capabilities.
